PLS-CADD: Wire Clearances Report - Multiple Scenarios At Once. For PLS-CADD to allow multiple scenarios to be ran at once using the Wire Clearances Report. Having these scenarios be set up at once alongside with the ability to save these settings for future use will allow for faster more accurate results.

Wire Clearances Report - Multiple Scenarios At Once

  • Category: Improvement

  • Background: At its current state, the wire clearances report only runs a specific case of settings for the source and target wire at a time. NESC requires wire to wire clearances to be maintained under a range of different scenarios including the following:

    • Scenario 1

      • Source wire: Maximum Operating Temperature

      • Target wire: Ambient Temperature

    • Scenario 2

      • Source wire: 32°F - NESC 250B Ice Thickness

      • Target wire: 32°F - No Ice Thickness

    • Scenario 3

      • Source wire: 60°F - 6 PSF Winds

      • Target wire: 60°F - 6 PSF Winds

    • Scenario 4

      • Source wire: 60°F - No Winds

      • Target wire: 60°F - No Winds

Running these reports individually takes time and creates room for error.

  • Request: For PLS-CADD to allow multiple scenarios to be ran at once using the Wire Clearances Report. Having these scenarios be set up at once alongside with the ability to save these settings for future use will allow for faster more accurate results.
